Barbara Podmore is a self-taught surreal artist from Zimbabwe, now living in Wellington. She loved drawing and painting from childhood, and later studied psychology and counselling. 

She was a wildlife artist and won Botswana’s Wildlife Artist of the year twice, before moving two New Zealand. Her paintings combine her love of wildlife, birds and conservation with fantasy and symbolism, and a dash of whimsy and humour.
