Nic Dempster

Dunedin based artist Nic Dempster has been part of the city’s art scene for nearly twenty years. His bold cubist influenced style has developed out of contemporary landscape work. It reflects his love for architecture and design, and plays with ideas of urbanisation, our infatuation with property and the great kiwi quarter acre dream. How this impacts our relationship with the natural environment is also explored. Nic gained a Masters History at Victoria University and has travelled extensively. He is represented by leading galleries the length of the country. He and his husband and young son live in Flag Swamp, just north of Waikouaiti.
