Trudy Burdon
Trudy Burdon is a Southland born and raised artist based in Invercargill. Her work is inspired by whānau, identity, community, connection and nature.
Trudy works mainly with acrylics and her signature style incorporates koru as an important Māori symbol. Koru is based on the shape of an unfurling fern frond and symbolises new life, growth and perpetual movement. Trudy’s use of koru and Te Reo Māori is an expression of her Māori identity.
