ART SHOWS ACROSS AOTEAROA has emerged this month as the successful umbrella entity presenting exciting Art Shows in five New Zealand cities from Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch in the South to Wellington and Auckland in the North . . . and growing.
Owners John and Kate Morrison have built their business on art sector nous, pragmatic common sense, being approachable to all and sheer hard work. They are the first to acknowledge they have not done this on their own.
John says “Our success to date has relied on attracting the most varied and talented range of artists possible to exhibit at our Shows every year – and providing them with significant and unique career development opportunities . . . such as the chance this upcoming season to enter the brand new STUFF $35,000 ART AOTEAROA GOLD AWARD. This is a major national award in art circles and we feel privileged to be the organisation working alongside STUFF to bring it to fruition.”
Along the way the Morrisons have also been building relationships with the buying public in their participating cities and with both small and large companies who are partnering with them to ensure they continue to be the best they can be.
Hosting corporates to VIP Previews and Opening Nights has evolved into long-term mutually beneficial partnerships and national sponsorship arrangements which are both now carrying ART SHOWS ACROSS AOTEAROA forward at pace.
Kate adds "We like to give back too – providing opportunities for both Arts students and Community Art Groups to exhibit and sell their work at all our Shows and this year for the first time we are able to offer the opportunity of Four SCHOLARSHIPS from The Learning Connexion to go to four exhibiting artists, one from each of our four Shows. And 2024 sees us making our first moves towards GOING GREEN across all Shows – a significant step forward we are proud of.
ART SHOWS ACROSS AOTEAROA's mantra is to provide ART FOR EVERYONE – works from every genre under $200 to over $20,000 are available and artists are carefully selected to reflect this inclusive approach. The Morrisons are making sure the benefits too are shared by everyone.
